The Pack 108 Pinewood Derby was held on
Friday night, March 6, 2009 at the Clear Lake Elementary School Gym.
After a pre-race pizza dinner in the cafeteria, the race fans
were invited to view the pinewood race car entries in the pits.
Racing began shortly before 7:00 PM and ran until about 8:45 PM with the
field consisting of 55 cars total in the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos,
Siblings, and Open Class divisions. There were a lot of close and
exciting race heats on the Pack 108 Pinewood Derby Track.
When the race heats finally ended, the winners
in the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Siblings divisions were announced.
Trophies were awarded to the top 3 positions in each division. The top 3 cars in each Cub
Scout divisions qualified to be sponsored by Pack 108 in the
Pontiac-Manito District Pinewood Derby Race at the Oakland Yards Main Dome
on Saturday, March 21, 2008.
We would like to give our thanks to the
Pinewood Derby Race committee, the Pit Crew, and all of those who helped
set up, run, and clean up after the derby.
