| The Pontiac-Manito District
Pinewood Derby was held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Waterford Mott
High School in Waterford, MI. Racing began
shortly after 11:00 AM and ran until about 1:15 PM with the large field of
cars in the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos divisions. Pack 44 had
strong representation in all 4 divisions. There were a
lot of close and exciting race heats.
Trophies for
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place were given out for the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and
Webelos divisions. There were also some special trophies for car
design. Each
Cub Scout racing in the derby got a participation trophy and a Pinewood Derby patch.
After the race heats ended, the winners
in the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos divisions were announced.
When the race trophies were awarded, Josh Wright of Den 11 took 1st place
in the Webelos Division. Congratulations to Josh on his 1st
place finish in the District Webelos Division and for repeating as
District Division Champion for his rank. Josh won the District Bear
Division in 2005.
Congratulations also go to Charlie Devlin
of Den 2, Kyle Crabill of Den 9, and Christian Gilbert of Den 7 who were
awarded special car design trophies for
their cars.
Pack 44 is proud of these boys and of every
Pack 44 Cub Scout that represented us in the 2006 District Pinewood Derby.
A special thanks goes to all of the friends and family who came out to
support their racers.
