Belt Loops and Pins
The Academics and Sports Program

Below are pictures of the belt loops and pins that can be earned by the Cub Scouts.  Most of these belt loops and pin can be earned by your son with your help and guidance.  Participation may take place at home, with the family, or within a den, a pack, or the community. (The Archery and BB Shooting belt loops and pins must be earned at official Cub Scout events on an official BSA facility range.)  Your son may earn any or all of these recognition items.
Click here for the Concepts and Guidelines for the Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program.

The Virtual Cub Scout Academics & Sports Guide has a handy drop down menu of the various Academics and Sports Belt Loops and Pins that can be earned and the requirements for doing so.  Just click on the A & S patch below to be linked to the Virtual Cub Scout Academics & Sports Guide.  The requirements drop down menu is on the middle of the guide's main page.  Just select the belt loop/pin you would like requirements information on and it will display it for you.

So find some belt loops and pins your son would be interested in earning and go have some fun.  Let your Den Leader know which belt loops/pins your son has earned so that they can record the achievement and get the recognition item for your son.

Note:   Some newer belt loops and pins are not pictured here, but are on the Virtual Cub Scout A&S Guide page

The Academics and Sports letter, "C" (No. 00805), is available to boys for displaying Academics and Sports pins that Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts earn. The letter, representing "Cub Scouts," can be worn on a sweater or jacket, or displayed or framed. It does not go on the uniform. There are no specific requirements for earning the letter, as it is designed merely to display pins.
